Yes. All needles used at Balance Healthcare are sterile, single-use, and FDA-approved. They are disposed of after each treatment in accordance with California medical waste regulations.
Most patients experience minimal to no pain. Acupuncture needles are extremely thin—comparable to a strand of hair—and are not hollow like hypodermic needles. You may feel a light pressure, tingling, or heaviness at certain points. Minor redness or light bruising may occur, but serious side effects are extremely rare.
